Bouygues Immobilier lays foundation stone for "Les jardins d’Hélios" residential building in Ostwald (67) - 02 October 2008

Jardins d'Helios (67)

Foundation stone of the "Jardins d'Hélios" residential development at Ostwald

On 2 October 2008, Philippe Arnold, Executive VP of Bouygues Immobilier Northern and Western France, laid the foundation stone of the Jardins d'Hélios residential development at Ostwald (Alsace) in the presence of Jean-Marie Beutel, the town's mayor.

The project is part of the Ostwald Park tennis club redevelopment, awarded jointly to Bouygues Immobilier and Lux Immobilier. Ideally located in the heart of a leafy residential area, the 4,407- sq.-metre project is well-served by transport links (tramway, airport, A35 motorway) putting Strasbourg within easy reach.

Designed by the architect firm Rey et Lucquet, the project includes thirteen 5- and 6- room houses and three 3-story apartment blocks containing 2- to 5-room apartments with terraces, disposed around a central car-free roadway.

Environmental quality has been a decisive factor in the project design. The programme is sited in a verdant parkscape where properties will be exposed to the light on two or even three sides. The 13 houses have been designed to use solar energy from a "bioclimatic greenhouse" that will provide solar power in winter while protecting against the risk of overheating in summer. Hot domestic water will be provided by solar panels. Overall energy consumption in the properties in the programme will be 20% lower than in a building compliant with 2005 Thermal Regulations.
