BNP Paribas Real Estate and Bouygues Immobilier have inaugurated the Trianum building (The Hive), Schneider Electric's new HQ, at Rueil-Malmaison - 25 November 2008
Inauguration of the Trianum - HIVE building
On Monday, 24 November Philippe Zivkovic, Chairman of BNP Paribas Real Estate, and François Bertière, Chairman and CEO of Bouygues Immobilier, inaugurated the Trianum building, the new headquarters of Schneider Electric, in the presence of Patrick Ollier, member of parliament and mayor of Rueil-Malmaison, André Renaudin, CEO of AG2R La Mondiale, representing the investor, and Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman of Schneider Electric's Management Board.
Designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte and built as a co-development by BNP Paribas Real Estate Commercial Real Estate Development and Bouygues Immobilier, the Trianum is located at 35 rue Joseph Monier in the Rueil 2000 business district. La Mondiale, owner of the building, has given the project its active support. With a net floor area of 35,000 sq. metres, the building has High Environmental Quality (HQE®) certification, and an application has been made for High Energy Performance (HPE) certification. Schneider Electric has sought to optimise consumption and energy choices while ensuring user comfort and convenience. The company has underlined its intent by naming its headquarters The Hive (Hall de l’Innovation et Vitrine de l’Energie).
Because the building is situated close to the A86 motorway, solutions had to be found to reduce noise. The "double active skin" façade guarantees the occupants' acoustic comfort. A showcase for innovation, The Hive has several thousand motion sensors so that lighting and air-conditioning in each office can be regulated as efficiently as possible. Individual employees are made more responsible for energy use by means of a computerised system that enables them to track and manage their consumption.
The Hive points towards the way in which offices and buildings in general will be designed, built and operated in the future, meeting the needs of energy efficiency and user comfort and convenience.
The project is the result of close cooperation between BNP Paribas Immobilier Real Estate Development, Bouygues Immobilier, La Mondiale, Schneider Electric and the town of Rueil-Malmaison.
1,800 people will be working in The Hive by the end of the year.
