History

1952: Francis Bouygues establishes the Francis Bouygues company, specialising in industrial and construction works in and around Paris.

1956: The Francis Bouygues company sets up a new property development subsidiary called STIM (Société de technique immobilière).

1974: The establishment of France Cottages (later to become France Construction) enables the development of a village of detached houses in the suburbs of Paris.

1979: The Maison Bouygues company acquires Bâtir, a house builder particularly well-established in the Nord region of France.

1985: STIM, Bâtir and France Construction become subsidiaries of a new holding company called Bouygues Immobilier.

1990: Bouygues Immobilier sets up 2 subsidiary companies: Bouygues Immobilien in Germany and Bouygues Inmobiliaria in Spain.

1995: STIM and Bâtir merge to form STIM Bâtir.

1996: Bouygues Immobilier is awarded ISO 9001 certification in recognition of its quality system: the first developer in France to achieve this status.

1998: Bouygues Immobilier acquires the Compagnie des Métiers du Commerce, which specialises in shopping centre research, design and marketing.

1999: The merger of STIM Bâtir and France Construction becomes effective of 1 January. All business activities are now grouped together under the Bouygues Immobilier brand.

2000: 2 new subsidiary companies are established: Bouygues Imobiliária in Portugal and Bouygues Immobilier Polska Sp. z o.o. in Poland.

2001: Bouygues Immobilier acquires a 66% stake in H4 valorisation (now ValPar Immo) from EDF.

2003: ISO 9001 2000 certification is extended to cover all Bouygues Immobilier businesses in France.

2004: Bouygues Immobilier Belgium is established, and the company’s Polish company is awarded ISO 9001 certification.
Bouygues Immobilier sets up and develops its sustainable development policy for residential programmes: AgirVert®.

2005: Bouygues Immobilier acquires Société Lyonnaise de Construction.

2006: Bouygues Immobilier develops its urban planning business in partnership with local authorities. Launch of Maisons Elîka, which builds houses intended for low-income households.

2007: Bouygues Immobilier acquires Blanc et Cie, a property developer based in Grenoble and a key player in the region. Since July 2007, Habitat & Environment certification has been sought for all residential planning permission applications. Bouygues Immobilier is the first property developer to make such a commitment.
