Bouygues Imobiliária started out by offering high-quality office buildings tailored to the local market. Its first project was the construction of the Magellan Tower in Lisbon, the building that houses its own head office.

Shopping centres and retail parks to span the whole retail segment

Retail parks are the second major area of success for Bouygues Imobiliária. Although this is a recent line of business in Portugal, in just nine years the company has become one of the country's top five retail property developers.

2009: A highly productive year
In 2009 Bouygues Imobiliária:
- delivered a fully pre-let retail park, the Portimão Retail Center, in March;
- started work on Aqua Portimão, a 35,500-sq.-metre shopping centre;
- opened Espaço Guimarães, a 48,000-sq.-metre shopping centre;
- started work on two office buildings in Lisbon, Espace (10,000 sq. metres) and Explorer (5,000 sq. metres).
