EOS and the High Environmental Quality (HQE) approach
The HQE targets chosen for the EOS programme include:
-
Building's relationship with the immediate environment:
A two-way cycle track will run alongside Quai Roosevelt up to the site. A garage for two-wheeled vehicles, with video surveillance of the entrance, will be located near the gateway for pedestrians.
Radiant ceiling panel heating will be installed in the offices.
In winter, this will enable heat from the district heating system to be used to cover all heating requirements, limiting the use of electricity. In summer, the radiant ceiling will be fed by a chilled water system.
The storage of ice limits the electrical output of installed refrigeration units and optimises energy consumption.
Two cisterns are provided for storing stormwater to supply lavatory flushing systems and to water landscaped areas.
