Serviced Residences for the Disabled

Serviced Residences for the Disabled

There were 745,000 adults claiming disability benefit in France in 2007 but only 110,000 places in sheltered accommodation for disabled adults. Making up the accommodation shortfall is a real challenge.

A rapidly changing sector

The accommodation needs of disabled adults are far from being met. There is a conspicuous lack of care homes, sheltered accommodation and hostels and the situation will not get any better as life expectancy increases.

Bouygues Immobilier's expertise

Residences for the disabled must comply with strict regulations. Amongst other things, they have to meet the needs defined in local and regional plans and obtain authorisation from senior local government officials.

Drawing on their extensive experience, Bouygues Immobilier's teams are on hand to advise and assist associations, local authorities and elected officials in their efforts to improve services for the disabled.

Integration into the urban fabric

Bouygues Immobilier prefers to build its residences for the disabled in the heart of the community to ensure that residents continue to play a part in local life. In return, the residences help to drive the local economy, creating jobs and generating spin-off activities.

Bouygues Immobilier has recently built a special school for an autism charity at Noisy-le-Grand, to the east of Paris, and sheltered accommodation for GDP Vendôme in the Paris suburb of Saint-Cloud.
